Sudbury started off the brighter side and put pressure on the opposition defence very early on. This was shown by the amount of chances they created that unfortunately were not put to bed by the Sudbury attackers.

Through out the first half Sudbury were showing great togetherness and were playing well all over the pitch. Bradley Beevis had a few near misses from far out of the box with some great shots. Fortunately for Clacton their keeper was making some great saves. Joe Copping, who was captain of the Sudbury side, was keeping the team going the whole of first half and they were showing great willing to attack to get the side in the lead.

After the first half finished the second was just about to begin with both sides eager to score the first goal. Ten minutes into the second half Joe Nicholls was replaced by Callum Fuller. After coming on Callum was straight into the game making a darting run down the left hand side of the pitch carrying the ball right into the box where he got brought down by the Clacton defender, resulting in a penalty to Sudbury. Kie Dyer then stepped up to the penalty and tucked into the right into the bottom left corner with a lovely finesse shot putting Sudbury 1-0 up.

After the goal Sudbury were eager to get another one in the back of the net. Five minutes after scoring Bradley Beevis created a great chance for Kie Dyer after a great run down the left hand side however after a great ball into the box Kie unfortunately blasted the ball over the crossbar from 6 yards out. Clacton showed great desire to attack and were starting to become the better team. The game was going backwards and forwards with both teams attacking and defending well. In the 60th minute Clacton had got themselves a corner, Clacton's player headed the ball very well into the Sudbury goal which unfortunately Callum Hemson could not quite reach with his head to stop the ball from going in the back of the net.

As the half went on both teams were playing good football creating lots of chances and creating great pieces of play, however neither of the teams scored again resulting in the game finishing at 1-1.
