1. Education Overview


Our first & second year students study the NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity. This provides no fewer than 168 UCAS points and is the equivalent to three A levels. From September 2023 our students have the option to study A level psychology alongside the NCFE Level 3 qualification in a unique blended learning pathway. We work extremely closely with SCL, our Official Education Provider, to maintain compliance and high standards. SCL has a good with outstanding features Ofsted rating and was inspected as recently as January 2022.

The assessment method for the NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma is by assignment completion with students receiving feedback on their first submission with the option to re-submit work with the aim of improving overall grade. Each unit students will achieve either a pass, merit or distinction grade. This method of assessment allows students to be taught and then apply this with a variety of different assessments such as presentation, practical assessment, case studies and critical writing. This method of education assessment prepares our students for university with most degree based courses being 80% assignment based.

Students who don’t achieve a grade 4 in either Maths and or English at year 11 will resit maths and or english as a year 12 student. This see’s students enrol on the NCFE Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity and attend GCSE classes once a week with resit exams taking place in November or May/June.

Those students not listed who have completed the NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity will be returning to complete the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Gym instructing & personal training & will graduate in 2024. Many of this cohort are deferring university offers to achieve this qualification before continuing to higher education in September 2024.
