The first half was goalless, though AFC exploited Cornard in wide areas and produced plenty of crosses via Colclough from the right and Hemson from the left. Sudbury and it's midfield trio Watson, Hunter and Holland dominated large parts of the first half.
The second half saw Colclough sneak in back post and slot home to open the scoring not long after the restart. Cornard were a physical outfit and offered a threat on the counter attack but Fuller tapped home and made it two. McNicholas then finished the game with a brace, 3-0 came after great play down the right found McNicholas inside the penalty area to finish. The fourth rounded things off in great style as Hunter cleverly bounced a pass and then found Watson, who fed McNicholas with a smart through ball and the finish was composed.
Joe Potter made a remarkable save to keep AFC's clean sheet intact, captain Dunnage along with the rest of the defence deserve praise for this too and will be looking to build on this performance. Next up for the AFC U18's is an away trip to Brightlingsea Regent on Thursday 25th August.
