AFC were hoping to end the day in fifth place in the league by picking up 3 points against a lowly Morton Hall side with only one win all season. It was clear from the first minute however that AFC were not going to get things their own way.AFC's midfield of Alex Lomax, Olly Stalker, Harry Byford and Henry Richold were losing the battle in the middle of the pitch and this allowed Morton Hall to get at the back three of Spencer Turner, Finlay Kent and Leon Greenley Winterflood. It wasn't long before the away side had the ball in the net after a fairly tame shot found it's way past keeper Rowan Howlett and into the bottom corner. Morton Hall continued to press as AFC found it hard to get going and soon it was 2 nil. Again the AFC defence not clearing their lines. Striker Bobby Giles was dropping deep to get into the game but AFC's passing game had deserted them. Another move broke down and Morton Hall got the ball forward quickly and punished a static defence again for 3 nil. Then just before the break, Byford slipped the ball between a defenders legs, but before he could shoot a tackle knocked the ball away. The keeper came out to clear but it was bravely charged down by Giles and the loose ball fell kindly for Henry Richold to tap home for 3-1 at half time. The goal gave the home side a lift and they started the second half much better than the first. Subs Oliver Richold and Kuba Slowinski helped carry the ball up the pitch with some strong runs and it was Oliver Richold who found an unmarked Giles in the box for another tap in to make it 3-2 and the come back was on.AFC pushed for a leveller with the away side only managing the odd long shot which were easily dealt with by Howlett. But disaster struck when a poor goal kick found a Morton Hall striker who accepted the gift to make it 4-2. This seemed to knock the stuffing out of the home side who couldn't get going again and Morton Hall held on for a deserved victory after a poor display overall from AFC.

Man of the match, Spencer Turner- never gave up and tireless tackling.
