A good away win in the Suffolk Senior Cup against an Premier Suffolk and Ipswich League side Capel Plough.

Goals in the first half by Charlie Gilbert and Tyler French set the young side on their way. The home side pulled a goal back before Ollie Peters netted AFC's third. Capel got a second with about ten minutes to go but Sudbury held on to gain a place in the next round.

With thanks the below report is reproduced from The Green Un and the Capel Plough scribe 'The Ploughman'
It was the visitors who went through to the next round after a close game with the home side failing to take their chances especially after the break. They almost scored in the first minute when Gary Collins had a shot cleared off the line while at the other end the lively Charlie Gilbert had a shot saved by Tom Williams before he put his side in front after ten minutes running 50 yards and beating three defenders before firing into the corner . Collins equalised two minutes later after his shot slipped through keeper Louis Johnsons hands into the net. Both teams created chances before Tyler French put the visitors back in front shooting home following a freekick after half an hour Alfie Carroll and James Axcell both shot wide for Sudbury as the half ended. The home side with the wind behind them dominated the second half forcing ten corners and missing several chances. Lee Barrett shot wide and Shaun Webb had an effort saved while Danny Bloomfield had a close range shot saved at the other end. The young visitors side went further in front with ten minutes remaining when after Axcell had gone close Ollie Peters slotted home from fifteen yards. Barrett pulled one back a minute later shooting into the top corner before Johnson made a brilliant save to tip over a Collins header and Webb headed just wide as the visitors held on to progress to the second round.
