Well the last game of 2017 has been played and now it’s onto 2018 and what a way to start it than with a derby game against Bury Town.
While 2017 wasn’t the greatest year in AFC’s history it was certainly interesting and there are hopes that 2018 will see the club on the up once again.
Bury Town visit King’s Marsh sitting in eleventh place in the Bostik North table five places and five points ahead of AFC. In their squad are a number of ex-AFC players, goalkeeper Luis Tibbles, defenders Tevan Allen, Kyran Clement, Darcy D’eath, midfielder Darren Mills and forwards Ollie Hughes and Ollie Dunlop. Some are injured and are unlikely to play but a strong connection between the two clubs.
AFC go into the game on the back of win at Mildenhall and a draw at Aveley and in good spirits for the rest of the season as Manager Mark Morsley begins to sort out a good combination of players. Reece Dobson who was sent off on Saturday will be available for selection as his suspension does not start until next weekend. Goalkeeper Jake Jessup will be making his home debut.
A good crowd is expected for the game that kicks off at 3.00pm.
