A home game on a chilly Tuesday just before Christmas and after a rather poor performance on the proceeding Saturday there was an fairly healthy attendance of 164 to see if AFC there was some improvement in the side.

There was not a lot to cheer for the home supporters in the first period as the first time visitors to King's Marsh went in leading by a solitary goal. The second forty-five minute saw AFC much more on the front foot but it took until a minute before time that Ollie Peters netted the equaliser to gain a point.

A couple of changes were made to the previous selection with Max Booth missing though a knock sustained in the previous game, Reece Dobson took over. Tyler French was recalled this time to play in a right-sided wing back position.

In the early stages there was not a great deal of action but Wade caused AFC's Paul walker to tip over a header. Billy Holland countered with a long range shot that Mann in the Hertford goal easily saved before the visitors took the lead. On eighteen minutes the ball was worked out the visitor's right and there Brett O'Connor cut inside and shot home avoiding the diving Walker.

An Ollie Peters free kick was headed wide by Holland before Ruff at the other end shot wide. AFC were not getting close to the Hertford goal and shots were from well outside the penalty area, Joe Whight having one of them that Mann was able to gather easily. Whight then picked up a yellow card for a hard tackle which showed his desire to get to the ball but not in the eyes of the match official.

As the half ended ian Miller headed over a Whight free kick.

Half Time;- AFC Sudbury 0 Hertford Town 1

There were no changes at the break but it seemed that the home side were looking the hungrier side and pushing forward well. Dobson had a shot that again was from some distance and again Mann saved comfortably. Walker was alert enough to collect an effort from O'Connor before Ben Hunter had the ball in the Hertford net, unfortunately it was chalked off for a previous infringement.

Tom Dettmar fresh from recovering from a fairly serious injury took over from Dobson with just over ten minutes to play. Jake Clowsley played in Peters but Mann came out to smother his goal bound effort. It was Ollie Peters who became AFC's saviour with a minute of normal time left, as he took a return pass from Mekhi McKenzie and powered his way into the area and fired home that was deflected into the net despite Mann getting a hand to it.

With three minutes of added on time then played AFC took a point that retained their sixteenth place in the Bostik North table.
