AFC went down to their third away defeat in eight days as fellow strugglers Metropolitan Police down to ten men won by a solitary second half goal.
Suffering an injury crisis, AFC Manager Jamie Godbold brought in Joe Marsden on a six-week loan from Leiston and he started the game as Jack Wilkinson, Aidan Austin, Erkan Okay, Craig Parker,Rob Eagle, Danny Crow and Marcus Garnham all missed out through injury or illness. James Baker was only fit enough to start on the bench.
Callum Robinson (pictured) was in goal due to Garnham's foot injury and he make a couple of good first half saves. Liam Wales played up front with Sam Bantick on one flank and Marsden on the other. The home side were reduced to ten men just before the half-time interval.
The hosts started the second period far better and scored a goal six minutes into it and never really looked like losing the lead. Ryan Henshaw picked up a caution and was later replaced by James Baker as AFC went to three at the back to try to pull the scores level. Ollie Dunlop took over from Liam Wales in the last few minutes but it was to no avail as AFC slipped to another away loss.
The game was played in front of the lowest away attendance for an AFC Ryman Premier League game only 78, the previous lowest was 124 against Merstham.
AFC remain in eighteenth place still two places above the bottom four in the table.
There is no midweek fixture, the next game is Saturday 4th March at home to Folkestone Invicta.
