Our second away league game of the season took us to newly promoted Little Oakley. The home side had 6 points on the board from their two previous league games so we knew it wasn't going to be an easy game.

With at least 60 Suds fans cheering the Yellows (in red!) on, we competed and battled in a first half that saw few attacking forays from the away side against a physically dominant team in black and blue. Our four man back line and 'keeper Finely Iron repelling several threats to our goal.

The pitch was extremely hard after the rain-free summer we've had and, subsequently, the ball seemed to spend a lot of time in the air. At the end of the first 45, The Suds went in level at 0-0.

Manager Phil Weavers made some minor tactical tweaks which saw Tom Maycock pushed further forward to support the tireless Scott Sloots and Reuben Chinnery. As a result The Suds started to impress themselves upon the game more and it was that man Maycock who made the breakthrough with his second goal for AFC Sudbury this season on 59 minutes.

Five minutes later, the lively Reuben Chinnery doubled our lead to the delight of the away support behind the goal. Our current top-scorer doubled his own tally on 76 minutes with a world class effort from the edge of the 18 yard box, that beat the 'keeper at his right-hand post. 3-0!

The Suds claim their first league points of the new season and did it in style. A superb team performance. Next stop Ware in the FA Trophy.
