Kettering Town v AFC Sudbury
Southern League Premier Central Division
Latimer Park, Polwell Lane, Burton Latimer, Northants, NN15 5PS
KO: 19.45
Playing Kettering Town this season has been like waiting for a bus; you wait ALL season for one and then two come along at the same time!
Weather allowing, we head back along the A14 on Tuesday night to play the much-postponed fixture against Kettering Town. It will be our third visit to Latimer Park since our promotion to Step 3. Our first visit in season 2023/24 was on a very wet Tuesday night in February(!) losing 2-0 on a very muddy pitch. Last season, we again suffered defeat but we gave Kettering Town a good game; Joe Neal scoring with a peach of a goal to level things at half-time in front of 1,439 fans!
Due to postponements, Kettering Town have managed to host only three fixture since the start of the year, all in March, producing two wins and one defeat. That, along with their victory over us on Saturday has given them an outside chance of making the play-offs again this season.
We must forget Saturdays home defeat at the hands of The Poppies. Despite our league situation we need to keep believing and playing for points as 24 of them are still up for grabs between now and the end of the campaign.
Come on you Yellows!
