A dark, cold Tuesday night in Leicestershire, a coach departure from the club at 3pm and an expected arrival time back of well into the early hours. It's not for everyone.
We've memories of a tough game here in the F.A Cup last season when we were in our pomp, Nnamdi, Stokes, Sak etc and we were duly beaten.
This time was very different though.
Only Jake Turner played in both games.
We started the game brightly and after Coalville had a speculative shot across goal we fashioned a chance ourselves when Romario hit a volley about a foot wide of the Coalville goal.
The opening goal came from a perceptive through ball by Romario on the 15 minute mark that set Joe Neal free through the middle and 40 yards from goal he bore down on the home side's goal. A measured right foot finished followed and Joe had his 11th goal of the season and we led.
Within 10 minutes that lead was doubled and what a goal it was too, Neal flicking the ball inside to Millsey on the halfway line before both took off at pace towards the Coalville goal. After advancing about 20 yards Mills switched the ball left back to Joe who was making headway down the wing. Joe angled in towards the penalty area a little before feeding the ball back inside to Mills who stroked home from the edge of the box. The pace at which the counter attack happened and it's directness was something to behold and it was well worth the celebrations that followed.
It was almost 3 nil within another five minutes as the pair combined again, this time with Mills down the left but his cross was fired over the bar by Joe from fairly close range. There was nothing much to worry about from Coalville as an attacking force during that first 45 as we defended well and with composure.
The 2nd half would surely bring a response from the hosts but first off we bagged the killer third goal within 5 minutes of the restart. Mills firing in a shot from range that game the home keeper some serious problems and Joe was on hand to poach the rebound to take the game beyond our hosts.
Coalville went at us with numbers for the rest of the match but the defence held firm and James Philp standing in for James Bradbrook was in fine form too making a couple of big and brave saves late on ensure the clean sheet.
Tuesday night's in Coalville? don't mind if we do!
The win took us out of the drop zone and sets us up nicely for this weekend at home to Stourbridge. A win and we'll go above our visitors too so get down and make some noise for your Yellow boys this weekend. They seriously deserve it
