Two penalties, a stunning free kick and a goal mouth scramble meant Redditch took three points back home with them.
After a slow opening 20 minutes, Redditch took the lead. A goal mouth scramble, after neat play down the right-hand side, resulted in Danny King tapping in. 15 minutes later, Redditch were awarded a penalty. Reiss Oteng, making his first start for the club, made a challenge on Aram Soleman and the ref pointed to the spot without hesitation. Soleman took it... and scored it... just, James Bradbrook managing to get fingertips to it. In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Adriel George stood over a free kick on the left-hand side of the penalty area, and curled it beautifully into the top corner. Was it a shot, was it a cross....hmmmmm, the fact is that it ended up in the back of our net to all but seal the game for the away side after 45 minutes.
We started the second half better than we had ended the first, Bareck and Tarpey introduced for Oteng and Olu meant we started to keep the ball a little better and we were able to carry the ball further upfield but no real chances were created. With 25 minutes remaining, a second penalty was awarded. Skipper Jake Turner ‘fouling’ goal scorer Adriel George incredibly softly. Alex Cameron stepped up, despite Soleman previously taking, and he sent Bradbrook the wrong way.
We now look towards next Saturday as we face Nuneaton away from home, lets continue to back the boys and keep our unwavering support.
