It was a disappointing afternoon for the Yellows, as despite having the majority of the ball, and the best chances of the match, a wonder strike from AFC Dunstable saw them progress.
Our Lineup was Bradbrook, Lewis, Turner, Henshaw, Dickens, Miles, Peters, Neal, Cowling, Pearce, Allen. On the bench we had Brownsdon, Page, Munson, Bradley, Terminiello.
The home side started by trying to pen the Suds into our own half, we were able to play some intricate passes around the opposition though, and eventually the ball fell kindly to JT on two occasions, but he fired way over the bar, and into the car park. The best opportunity of the half went to Myles Cowling, he danced round three defenders, and found himself one on one with the goalie, but he was stopped by a fantastic save by the goalie.
Half-Time AFC Dunstable 0-0 AFC Sudbury
In the second half we started quickly, Tom Dickens saw his fierce shot saved, and then headed just wide of the post, and we kept applying pressure as Myles Cowling saw his good header well saved, before Liam Pearce easily got past the full back, and hit a low shot which was saved once again by Purcell. Just as the momentum was all with Sudbury, a Dunstable player went down, allowing the home side to re-group, and directly after that the momentum swung. The full back who Liam Pearce had easily got round all match, was all alone on the edge of the area and managed to dink his shot right into the top corner. One shot, One Wonder Goal. With not long to go, we had back to back great opportunities, as Joe Neal played in Josh Allen, and his first shot was magnificently blocked, and the follow up was remarkably saved.
