Tracey Welcomes Smoking and Vaping Ban

Strength and Conditioning Head reinforces new policy ahead of first home fixture

AFC Sudbury Head of Strength and Conditioning Ben Tracey has reinforced the importance of the smoking and vaping ban within the stadium as he looks forward to this evening’s first Men’s First Team home match of the season against Biggleswade Town.
“Many of us enjoy a pie and a pint on matchday, but there is no place for smoking and vaping around football. It is perfectly reasonable for adults to consume alcohol or less nutritious food as an occasional treat because their choice of food or drink is very unlikely to impact others. However, introducing carcinogenic gases to an area where we welcome children in for free and where our players are exerting themselves nearby is simply not the same and simply not right.”
He continues “That’s said, I am pleased that we have provided a smoking and vaping area outside of the stadium in respect for those who need to use this facility. Having been around the club regularly since I was a child, I know that most of our fans are sensible, and that they will support our valued volunteers by making sure that the policy is upheld by everyone.”
