AFC slipped to their first defeat of the 2017/18 pre-season when their Bostik Premier League opponents took the spoils at Victory Road.

Manager Jamie Godbold included a couple of triallists in the Sudbury side as they went in at half-time behind from a Matt Blake goal.

The same man scored in the second period, but AFC's new look side was pleasing on the eye for the travelling supporters.

The AFC Academy side went to Ipswich and were hosted by Suffolk and Ipswich League side Coplestonians with AFC coming out on top winning 4-1. The goal scorers were Jacob Lay, Ollie Peters and a brace from Callum Fuller.
