Joining the team as General Manager is Dave Hennessey. Dave has been at the heart of Long Melford FC over the past four years and has accepted this role in order to be around Step Three in a supporting role for the first time in his career. Dave’s focus will be very much off the field, managing team sheets, organising transport, welcoming teams and officials to our home fixtures, completing Marc’s signing formalities and taking all the back-office and administrative tasks off Marc.

Head of Football, Danny Laws comments ‘We interviewed Dave last year when we appointed Marc. He impressed us all at the time with his positive attitude, and his strong, commercially and administratively astute character.’

Chris Ruggles who has quietly, diligently done a great job as Matchday Secretary during this year remains in post, and will have the benefit of working closely with Dave to ensure that fixtures are methodically planned and delivered.

The Club has also announced that Alicja Holland will become Club Secretary and Operations Manager on 1st June. Alicja is a qualified Accountant and Prince 2 Project Manager with experience as a PLC Financial Analyst and working in highly regulated environments, including experience working alongside Suffolk FA. Since joining a couple of months ago, Alicja has digitised legacy manual processes, enhanced our grant application capability and procured an Epos System to automate payments received and stock control.

This is just the start of a process to provide a firmer and more experienced foundation to support the playing and coaching staff, with more announcements to follow soon.
