Jake, who's made 163 appearances for the Suds, had this to say, when asked what made him decide to stay at AFC and what does captaining the team mean to him.

"Sudbury is my local team, my friends, family and postman all come down to the stadium to support me - so I’m delighted to go again for a third year, as club captain.

No doubt they’ll be lots of change, as there always is, but I’m looking forward to building upon the way we ended the last campaign and being competitive in a tough league.

I’ll give my best to the club, on and off the pitch, and I look forward to seeing all the fans once again - Yellows!"

General Manager, Dave Hennessey had this to add following the news:
