Following a summer of significant change and a busy start to the season, Sudbury have made moves off the pitch as well as on in recent weeks, tying Men's First Team GM, Dave Hennessey, to a 2-year extension that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2026/27 season (with an option for 2027/28 too).
CEO Alicja Holland has this to say on the announcement:
"Stability breeds success and we've lacked stability in recent years so we're proud to have Dave continuing to lead our Men's First Team operations with the vision, discipline, and passion that have defined his tenure so far. His belief in this club, our players, and our supporters is unwavering. We're building for something lasting and this is a fundamental building block for the future of that team within our wider club.
Dave has very much embedded himself in the team and the broader aspects of the club too and I'm pleased with the relationship we've built with him so far and more so to know we'll be working with him henceforth."
And Dave Hennessey added this:
"I am delighted to be in a position to continue my role at Sudbury for the foreseeable future.
I'm grateful to the club for their belief, support and commitment to me in giving me the responsibilities that come with this role.
And the same goes for Danny and the players, they certainly keep me on my toes, but they make the job worth doing that's for sure.
There's such a great team of people behind-the-scenes at Sudbury and I've been made to feel welcome and part of the family since I joined, I can't wait to see where this journey takes us".
