Dunne Deal for AFC

Despite rumours of us being in the mix for a certain recently released Argentinian footballer, we can confirm AFC Sudbury have added a fourth signing of the new season by adding striker Romario to their ranks from Braintree Town. Romario Dunne started out at the Manchester City Academy and arrives at the MEL Group Stadium via Hadleigh, Brightlingsea, Stanway and Braintree.

Rick Andrews says "We are delighted to secure Romario's signature. We outlined the project here at AFC Sudbury and he was very enthusiastic to be part of it. This is exactly the type of player we want, someone who appreciates what the club has to offer and very much wants to be part of our journey."

Romario will go straight into the squad for tomorrows hastily arranged friendly fixture away against Ipswich Town. Our previous opponents, Needham Market, pulled out late last night after suffering player availability issues but by midday today Ipswich Town had stepped in and filled the breach. It will be our final pre season friendly before the big one at home next Saturday against Aveley in our opening fixture. Unfortunately the Ipswich fixture will be behind closed doors in nature but we will bring you news from the game as and when we get it and pics etc will be available after the match.
