Today we welcomed Sporting of division 2 to the Kings Marsh Stadium. It was a game of David vs Goliath in terms of size and physicality and something our boys will need to get used to quickly with the new season kicking off next Saturday.

Having said that our boys played some nice football at times but just lacked the finish in front, which if we had taken our early chances at the beginning of both halves, the score line would have been much closer.

Well done to Tommy who got runner up Man Of The Match in his first game as captain, and was also used as a secret weapon in the last 10 minutes when pushed up top to try and grab a goal - which he did and took it brilliantly.

Todays Man Of The Match went to the player who didn’t stop running, didn’t let his size impact him against players twice his size and on another day could have had a couple of goals. Well done on his debut game and todays winner - Stanley.
