Another solid performance by the team today.

Today the team hosted Clare FC for their second game of the season.

As a reward for his hard efforts in training this week, Lucas was given the honour of leading the team today by being named captain. What a performance from him today, on any other day, he probably would have had 3 or 4 goals to his name but unfortunately today we came up against a keeper who was equal to the challenge, thus denying Lucas his first goal for the club.

Today we opted to line up in a 3-3 formation, hoping this would make as more solid as a unit and equally help to provide more of a threat going forward, but the boys communicated with themselves on the pitch and naturally found that they defaulted back to the 2-3-1 formation which really worked and gave us what we wanted both at the back and going forward.

Really pleasing to see all of the boys having the confidence to get the ball and be prepared to run with the ball and take players on, each and every one of you were fantastic today.

Our “Man Of The Match” today was amazing. This is the reason why squad rotation is great. Last season he was our Number 1, and he was amazing last season. Today he played in defence and there wasn’t a blade of grass he didn’t cover. He was winning all his battles, taking players on and making passes to his team mates. A well earned Man of the Match award went to Charlie Bradshaw.

Well done boys, improving week on week, and doubling the amount of goals we scored last week too.

Keep up the great work.
