AFC start they 2017/18 campaign in the Isthmian League Cup, now sponsored by our 3G pitch suppliers Velocity, with a home tie against Brightlingsea Regent.
The Essex side gained promotion to as AFC slipped out of the Bostik Premier League and they are currently in eleventh place with eleven points from eight games played.
Hard to believe but in five meeting with them AFC have yet to win having only collected one draw in those games, but there is always a first time!
AFC Caretaker Manager Danny Laws is sure to give some of his younger players playing time in this competition. Captain Sam Clarke is unavailable for the tie and Tyler French will sit it out after collecting a slight injury on Saturday, while Mekhi McKenzie also took a knock and maybe rested. Jeremiah Kamanzi and Rhys Henry are still out injured.
If the scores are level after ninety minutes the tie goes straight to penalties.
