Today was a tough one. An unfortunate 1-0 loss for the avengers. A team that the avengers had previously beat in the past by a large margin but today were held off by a more hungry dafa team.

To begin with in the first half, the ball was on a go slow to be released from player to player. With dafa on the charge and determined to not let the last result phase them. Dafa were straight on the attack today and seemed to be winning majority of the balls. This meant that avengers would have to play defensively. On very few attempts in the first half, the ball was very end to end with Jude in the middle upfront but also dropping back to help defensively and noah on the right side making some great runs with the ball but suddenly becoming swamped with orange shirts with no one to help him.
Today wasn't the day for the middle guys who were not quite switched on within the game.

Defensive wise Dylan played the entire game at the back today, with Rylee at first until half way through the first half when Rylee was subbed for Freddie.
Freddie really came into his own and worked well with Dylan to keep dafa from scoring. Making the judgement calls to clear the ball when needed and apply the pressure onto their opponents attackers.

This carried on through to the second half where the avengers lacked still for dafa to exploit. Again Freddie and Dylan at the back making plays to prevent dafa strikes.

On the second leg of the second half the avengers managed to lose the possession of the ball and dafa broke free from the right opening up a player alone in the middle, unfortunately for them Dylan made a mad dash back to the middle to just get in a perfect foot to ball tackle preventing a precision shot on target. This effort did not go un-noticed.
The pressure throughout the game was apparent and dafa were definatly more hungry for the ball. Resulting in them making a mad dash back for a 3 on 1 opportunity, defender and the keeper to just slip it in the back of the net.
Making that 1-0 dafa.

Avengers from this moment suddenly switched on and started to play attacking football again. Managing to keep them pinned back in their half of the pitch winning corners and retrieving goalkicks to be first to the ball. With a few shots on target from Rylee and Jude and a good crack from a free kick from Dylan unfortunately for the avengers it was to late to achieve the comeback.

Dylan won today's man of the match for his effort and play throughout the entire game.

Hopefully next game we return to winning ways again!
