Goodbye 7 a side and hello to 9 a side.

The Avengers have completed their 7 aside journey and now move up to continue as a new under 11 team.
With bigger pitch, bigger sized ball, and that dreaded offside rule coming into play, the team will have to come together in force to carry on what they started together 2 seasons ago.

With the team growing ever stronger and putting in the work I have no doubt that this team will progress. With 2 new signings for the new season that will put us to a 12 player squad.

Yesterday we had a taste of whats to come as we faced off against the yellows in a 9 aside friendly and all though the game started well and the way we wanted unfortunately it didn't end that way for the Avengers. It was a great learning curve as we see what's to come next season and we can also see that the AFC Sudbury Derby will still remain between the 2 sibling teams which is always great to see and enjoy.

As the season ends we unfortunately lose one of our beloved coaches aswell. Joe has been an amazing coach throughout and has been at the heart of the wins and losses with the team. When I signed Dylan up to AFC Sudbury it was joes coaching that caught my eye, it was complex but fun, he would get stuck in and help those that needed to learn most. To give up his time every weekend along with Scott doesn't go unnoticed by us parents or the team. It will be sad to see Joe go but we also know that Scott has got this in hand aswell. In a final statement from Joe he had this to say:

"I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to each all of you, not only for the unexpected and wonderful send of and gifts but for your unwavering support for myself, Noah, Scott and the Avengers as a whole.

I almost feel like a parent who's been told they can't see their kids anymore as that's what each of the Avengers were to me at the weekend and i feel, privileged, humbled and it was an honour to work with and go on the journey we have been on together.

Don't know what I'm going to do with my time during the week now but you’re in the best hands with Scott and i look forward to watching from the sidelines.

Thank you and much love to you all

Avengers.....assemble."

We look forward to return to training after a short break and get straight back to work.

9 a side up and coming...... AVENGERS WE HAVE GOT THIS!!!!!!
