On a lovely Suffolk summers evening AFC overcame a very resolute Cornard Utd side to secure a narrow, but still convincing, victory. The manner of the victory could and should have been greater but Cornard defended solidly and despite the overwhelming bulk of possession, their lively and chirpy keeper was really not called into action anywhere near as often as he maybe should have been. Sudbury's goal came around the half hour mark when Kabangu flicked home a header following a decent cross from the left edge of the penalty area. Cornard only really threatened once and that was a long range free kick in the opening half that was well dealt with by the Sudbury keeper.
