In true Sudbury Style Mallet fielded a young side with many academy players featuring alongside retained players from last season, against a much more experienced Harlow town squad.
The girls started brightly and created a few good chances coming from Amy Thompson and Paige Clemonson in the opening 10 minutes and were unlucky not to go ahead.
The defence stood firm for 20 minutes with some fantastic defending from captain Amanda short and Teigan McHale.
Unfortunately the power of the Harlow town squad shone threw and went into half time 5-0 leaders.
The half time team talk from Mallet and Hrebeniak looked like it might have done the trick as once again the young Sudbury side came out for the second half and started quick.
Once again they created a couple good chances. However as the second half went on, Harlow grew in strength and the experience helped them push on once again.
A fantastic acrobatic penalty save from Sudbury’s Sydney Batt saw the Harlow player react quickest to the rebound only for Batt to get back up and make the double save.
After a much improved second half, Harlow came away as 8-0 winners. A well deserved win for Harlow but with many positives to take away for the young Sudbury side.
